Anyone out there own one of these MB's
I recently flashed the BIOS hoping that it would allow me to use a 40 gig harddisk without EZBIOS, but it didnt. Any help?

I flashed my friend's SD11 BIOS so that he can use his new Maxtor 60 Gb drive and it works fine.

What's the brand of the drive you're trying to use ?

Its a Maxtor 40 gig. I flashed the BIOS to version NC611, and everything worked fine, except it didnt fix that prob. It still only recognizes 33 gigs. On startup the BIOS says version 611 too, so I know its running. Its not the end of the world becuase I use EZ-BIOS, but that adds to startup time.

Ok...

I just called my friend to be sure and his BIOS version is 611 too. FIC says on their site that this version of the BIOS fix the 33 Gb limit, it really won't show you a 40 Gb drive when you auto-detect it in the BIOS ?

How do you have it detected ? Do you go in BIOS, auto detect it and save or do you make it auto detect at each startup ?

I originally went into the BIOS and use the auto-detect. It still said 33282 MB (or something real close to that) I have been on the site and saw the fixes, thats why I flashed it. I even sent FIC an email like 10 days ago and no response. I can't imagine what the problem is because on startup it says version 611.
Thanks for the help by the way.

****, this one is going to beat me...

Could it be a problem with 7200 RPM drives like yours ? Is the drive alone on its IDE cable ? Is it using UDMA66 with the appropriate cable ?
