Abit KT7raid and Win ME

Anyone had any problems with these two. I cannot get mstask.exe running and it seems to be a hardware problem. i need it for Norton AV automatic live update

I run a KT7-RAID, WinME (had upgraded before from 98SE, prior to format. After format, did a fresh install of ME full, so I got both covered), and Norton Antivirus 2000. I run live update once a week with no problems.
Under 'msconfig', mstask seems to running with no problems under start up.

I also just tried the scheduler in Norton, and LiveUpdate schedules fine
