Looked up info on Tyan MB at: http://www.motherboardx.com/boards/tyan/1692S.html
States mobo supports up to 300MHZ PII.
I have PII 450 MHZ, will the board support it? Would appreciate your knowledgeable input, or educated guess. Thanks

Tyans webpage for the Tiger 1692s (http://www.tyan.com/products/html/a_tigeratx.html) states that it supports PII 233-333Mhz. The most recent bios revision (http://www.tyan.com/support/html/b_tg_atx.html) only offers support for up to 366Mhz celerons.

Thanks Fingers,
I was on their web page today also.
Found the info, you mentioned, also noted that PII's above 333 MHZ, use 100 MHZ, bus speed, which I believe may be the problem with above 333 MHZ.
I don't know much about overclocking, but thought that there may be a way of having this motherboard/cpu combination.
Fact is I bought the wrong combo, via the Net. Was not careful enough. Pricewatch, info that vendor supplied just stated PII and Celeron supported. Now I am learning that
it goes beyond that. I will be paying better attention next time. Big OOPS!! Thanks again.
