I was given a mobo that I have installed in an old 486 case that I had. It works fine except that the boards tend to come unseated from the expansion slots. I think the mobo is sitting a little too low in the case and the boards do not seat completely. Can I just put washers under the mobo to raise it a little? Do they need to be special washers?
I will appreciate your help!

Grab an old inner tube and a short piece of pipe or copper tubing.

Lay the rubber down on a hard object and hammer out some round spacers.

Use super glue to stick em together and to stick them to the bottom of the case when you figure the height out..

I had a unit once that the cards would come unseated,, not VISIBLY either, just lose connection.

Consider yourself lucky that you spotted the problem and didn't chase your tail for weeks on end like I did http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I didn't understand where you intended for me to put rubber shims but I added some washers under the mounting posts in the case and everythings seems to be working now.
Thanks.
