Ok....I was trying to flash my bios from a floppy start up disk with AWDFLASH and my updated bios.

--Started it in DOS and chose "command prompt only".

--Typed in the path leading to AWDFLASH and updated bios
(same directory)

--So far so good...AWDFLASH prompts me with "file name to program", so I type in my updated bios file name (*.bin)

--Then, AWDFLASH prompts me with "fine name to save", so I type in "oldbios.bin" (backing up old bios.)

--Ok, then Flashing Utility begin to save my old bios showing me with a progress bar.

--NOW, after it is done saving my old bios, it then says, "Source File Not Found"

My question?? What in the world did I do wrong to get that error message??

Thanks for any help you can give me,
JF

Many times I have found the Bios file has a strange character in it like bx6_ss.bin, which is a shift/minus key. Why?

Problem SOLVED <big grin>.

Turned out that I was doing everything right EXCEPT relying on my flashing utility (AWDFLASH) to type in the correct .bin filename.

The file name that was on my floppy was different than what it showed on my hard drive. It was typing in what was on my hard drive for some reason which was AK74esac112.bin when on my A: drive it showed as AK741129.bin......so I typed THAT in and wah lah.....updated bios!

These computers can really do a number on us.....messing with one's sanity, you know??
