Just had one do that today. Turned out to be a bad stick of memory... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

SPD is handled on the stick by a tiny EPROM. I can see how it could be bad, even though the memory itself is OK, hence the valid "count".

I've tried numerous combinations of different
ramsticks, but the error remains the same. Can anything else cause this error,as the ram all preforms perfectly in an athlon system.I should add that the computer recognizes and counts all ramsticks inserted and boots up normally even with this error, but I am sure it will lead to more problems in the future.

Just a thought, You might have a bios setting
for ECC or some other Ram Test which is
being run on boot...You might try disabling
if you don't have ECC Ram....
