I just got a new job working @ Best Buy here in my hometown: SA,TX! I know it may not seem much, but since this is only my 2nd job (and I'm only a Junior in HS), it's a starter. I'll be working as there techie in the tech dept. I'll be the guy people hand there computers to when they're just about fed up with theres! hehe!
But I plan on gaining some more experience with computers with this job. For someone my age I know a lot about computers but I still have a lot to learn!!!

Oh some other good news, my school just hired me as there computer tech also! I talked to a teacher/friend of mine, Mr. Duffy about doing computer related work for the school, like troubleshooting hardware/software etc. He said that they do have a course called Independent Studies, which I could actually earn a credit for doing that kind of work. Since he seems to be the schools only tech, he sometimes gets overloaded w/work, I'd be a perfect candidate for the job. I start doing that the beginning of next semester!
Sorry for the long post, but I'm just glad about the good news! This is how it all starts...right? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Anyway, good day to everyone!

Congrats jadison on landing the new jobs!

It sounds like you'll be getting some good "real world" experience doing tech work at BestBuy, and with the extra credit from school, these both will be great references for your growing resume for the future.

Best of luck and enjoy! It's exciting, isn't it? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

For the school job make sure you get a little more than just extra credit. I use to do the same thing for my school, and they same a lot of money by not having to pay someone to fix it. It doesnt have to be money, it could just be special privliges(sp?).

Remember this:
When you are doing what you love to do and then someone will pay you to do it, that's not work that's "The Dream Job" Many folks out there hate their work and wish they had this. Good luck on what promises to be a promising career. I wish I had gotten into pc's at as early an age as you.

Congratulations jadison! You are very fortunate to be doing something you love and actually getting paid for it, just remember that when things get a little tough or you make a mistake. These are the things that you learn from and that make you better and stronger. Good luck!

Congrats on the jobs;0
Wish that there were computers when I went to High School, the best thing that we had was manual typewriters and adding machines where you had to pull a lever.
So long ago and far away....
