Hi, I just fitted a new battery to my 486/dx/66 motherboard and at boot up get a message : " cmos battery low / cmos display type mismatch ". Although I reset the new info, saved to cmos and rebooted, I get the same error message repeated. I checked the down circuit voltage and it has the 3.6 volts okay. Can it be a cmos chip or other component fault etc...? Any thoughts please...?

Clean the battery holders or connectors. Make sure you had the battery orientation correct.
