I am trying to find the fastest CPU for my mobo.
Mobo is an Asus P2B-F and as far as I can tell the Asus sites say it only goes up to a P III 600+. I have found info at http://www.ctechnet.com/hardware/asus.htm#41200 that suggest I may be able to o/c to 800Mhz using good cooling and the most current BIOS.
If I can reach 800 Mhz than that would mean I could use a P III 800 and not o/c a P III 600, yes/no ?
Also is there some way of finding the info in a BIOS.ZIP file?

thanks

According to the manual, The Asus P2B-F has jumpers for Multipliers up to 8.0 and FSB speeds up to 150MHz.

I suggest you consider a PIII-750/100. It shares the Coppermine Gigahertz architechture. It's 7.5 multiplier gives good overclocking choices on that board. It is highly likely to go 1000 at 133.3 FSB, and if not, there are 5 other choices above 800.
