I have several problems with this mobo.
1. When installing 2 WD200BB HDD's (Western Digital, 20GB) on each RAID channel (Master/Master), the RAID BIOS takes about 45 sec to initialize. If I install them both on the same channel (Master/Slave), it takes 3 sec. There is a BIOS update for the RAID controller, but the flash utility will not work.
2. Using a 3Com 3CR990-TX-97 NIC or a generic no name brand 10/100 PCI NIC network performance is about 1/3 what is should be. I have tried various slots, tried disabling plug and play in the BIOS, but nothing seems to fix it. 3Com claims incompatibilities in any VIA chipset, and ultimately recommend repartitioning and starting over in a specific way if installing the updated drivers for the VIA chipset do not remedy the problem. I am trying this now, much to my dismay...
