baffled

I posted a question before about this and didn't get a good response ,lets try it again.I know all about aureate or what ever it is called ,I have optout and haven't bothered using it to clean my system because I am curious as well as baffled. I downloaded a netmonitor called (really good netmonitor)and it keeps a record of my computers connection to the web,it seems to pickup not only mine but aureates as well,it had logged 14 hours of use other than my own use,it showed it as T3L1N1.My fathers computer has 250 some hours logged showing as oemcomputer in 2 weeks . So all you guys and gals who know a heck of a lot more about this stuff than I,is it possible for my puter to access the net on a connection entirely without my knowledge and not interfer with phone and not use regular dialup method. Now I may not have worded this just right but I think the point is there so please give a little thought to this, because it may not be aureate it may be some other program that can sneak information out of yours as well as my computer. Thanks for any replies.

This sounds more like a bug in your software monitor. It's not practically possible to transmit data over a dial-up connection without being actively connected. It may be theoretically possible, but why bother? If you're being spyed on, the software could wait till you are online and transmit any data at that time.
