LOL! yeah that is funny brydon. You try to console him only rub salt in his wounds. Reminds me of that joke:
A doctor came to a man in the waiting room after an irregular birth:
"Your son is alive, but I need to tell you, he's not going to live a normal life."
"What is it doctor?"
"He is missing both his legs."
The man is taken aback but recovers.
"Well, there are still plenty of opportunities for him. He may be confined to a wheel chair but he can move on his own, I can still play catch with him, and he can have a successful career."
The doctor hesitates.
"Well...not quite, he also has no arms."
Again the man is apalled but again recovers:
"This is staggering, but...with advancements in prosthetics these days, they can still fashion limbs for him and give him at least some semblance of a normal life, and I can take him to the zoo or for a walk in the park."
The doctor hesitates again.
"There's something else: he has no torso. In fact, he's just a giant ear."
This time the man is devastated. But heroically, he gathers himself yet again.
"...Doc...he...he is my son. If it's the only thing I can do for him, I will talk to him and read him stories as a child. When he grows older I will sing songs for him, and play music for him, that he can at least get something out of this life."
Once more the doctor speaks.
"There's one last thing: it's deaf."
