Every time i switch on the system, it gives me a error "one device or service has failed to start " something of that sort. I even don't know what this device is ?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

thanks

Look in your event viewer, start>programs>admin tools(common)>event viewer. Anything with a little red stop sign symbol, just double click on it, that will tell you what generated the error message.

If you are running Zone Alarm then it is likely the culprit. It got so bad on my machine that I now manually start it after a boot. The NT event log has 3 logs, 1 for security, 1 for system and the last for application. Check both the system and application logs to try to isolate the problem.

If you have loaded anything recently that messes around with system files you may want to re load your service pack. This happens all the time at work with the server service when we load something on then forget to redo the service pack. If it is a new problem and has only occured since you loaded something on the i reckon that would be worth a go.
