I have read that AMD Thunderbird-Athlon (and Duron?) chips do ram transfers on both edges of the clock, thus getting 200megatransfers of RAM transport even though the bus clock is only 100Mhz.

Do any of the motherboards support this? I've looked at a few, especially paying attention to the suggested RAM to get for the board, only to find that they only recommend PC100 or PC133 RAM, not the double data rate RAM that I'd expect.

What gives?

Can anybody recommend a motherboard for socket A that DOES really do 200megatransfers per second or better 266?? What RAM do you get for the motherboard? Please give me a part # and place to order it. Thanks very much!

Hello? Not the _RAM_ bus, the CPU bus is 100 MHz DDR aka "200" MHz.

Mainboards that have DDR SDRAM bus too are on their way, and they require DDR SDRAM (surprise!).

The Athlon boards that are in the shops now take plain normal PC133 or PC100 SDRAM.
