I am looking for an Intel 815e motherboard? Which one is the best for overclocking. Thanks.

i have the Asus Cusl2 and it works good if you have a good brand of ram.
its picky for its ram.tweakers have begun to find new settings for the chipset.
good overall performance .

I have chosen the Ausus CUSL2 mo-bo also. Does anyone know if there is a difference in performance between processor types? (i.e., socket 370 vs. slot 1). I have read many reviews praising the 815E chipset and the Asus CUSL2 is said to be one of the best 815E boards. I am considering switching to an AMD Thunderbird but I require a mo-bo with ATA-100, an ISA Slot, and of course the the best performance available. Price is not too much of a consern.

Here are my hardware choices as of right now:

Intel 800EB or 933Mhz processor
Asus CUSL2 motherboard
128x2 (256Mb total) of Mushkin 133Mhz H-SDRAM

IBM Deskstar 75GXP ATA-100 15Gb 7200RPM hard drive
ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 64mb DDR
Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1
Pioneer 16x DVD
Aopen 12x CD-R/RW
Creative Labs 56K-II Flash modem

I am looking for a good case with room for all these components as well as room for additional components such as a second HD and LAN. Performance is number-one, but I also want a case that is stylish and as quiet as possible. Also, the more cooling fans, the better. Any suggestions?

Currently the best motherboard for over-clocking would probably be the ABIT SA6R since you can change FSB in one megahertz increments with Softmenu III.
I have an ASUS CUSL2 which works fine but I do not overclock the 700 MHz Pentium III I have installed in it.

Asus CUSL2 also has jumperless BIOS which allows changing of the FSB in 1Mhz increments.
