I got the PIII 733 and tried to put it into my system but ran into some major difficulty. When the system tried to boot, you could see the processor was detected but the system would hang (when detecting IDE). Now, the jumpers were set properly and the manual says that the motherboard supports this processor but things are not going too smoothly. My specs: Lengend QDI motherboard, Via Apollo Pro 133a Advance 10 chipset. The PIII 733 is not listed on the package as either EB or E. And my memory is 128Megs pc133. It is not clear whether my motherboard supports EB (it does say it supports PIII 733 and beyond). Any suggestions but greatly be appreaciated.

Maybe try clear the Bios (cmos)

Also contact your mobo's website for an updated BIOS and see what addendum they may have concerning the processors ur mobo supports.

Double-check your master/slave settings and make sure your ide cables are properly seated on the mobo.

And tagging on OPPAINTER's suggestion, go back and autodetect your drives in the BIOS.
