hi,
I bought a case and I noticed that its backplate doesn't have the holes for built-in sound nor the game port.

I wonder if this backplates are universal, the one that came with this case is one of those that you have to pop in.

Assuming that these backplates are universal, where can I buy them ?

Thanks.
By the way, I don't feel like using a drill http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Whats with the double post?

I'm assuming you are talking about the IDE/PCI bus slots. This is where your sound card, modem, video card, etc. would be.

I'm assuming you are wondering what to put there if you ever want to take one of these cards out.

Assuming this is the average case, these slot covers ARE universal, and are most likely at your local computer store.

Hope this helps.

!!!!!!!!!!

I am talking about the backplate that you place where all the ports in the motherboard are: PS/2's, USB's, Printer Port !!!!

I am not talking about PCI, ISA, AGP or related !!!

Ohhhh, I get it.

My case came with two plates with different configurations. The one on the case (it is an ATX case) fits my ATX mobo, a pretty standard layout. THe other must fit another layout, as it has less holes lined up differently.

I don't know about purchasing one.. good question.

You just might have to get that drill ready, but make sure you clamp down that plate or put it in a vice, otherwise if the drill snags and catches the plate, you'll have a spinning fan blade/finger shortener!!!!!!

I think they are called I/O Shields.
here is a pic I found at Enlightcorp.com, I doubt they sell them though,
this is the kind of backplate I need:

You may want to check with a local vendor near you, GUTB. (Mom & Pop store) They should have some extras lying around.

Last new case I got came with 3 diff. plates in it's hardware box. Unfortunately I used the one you need, & have not seen them separetely anywhere.

Either do as Susan suggests, or contact your case supplier.
