I'm going to attempt building a computer myself! I have already installed another hard drive, burner and updated my mobo bios and my drivers all on my own. So, I figure I can attempt something a little more! Anyway, I have been reading the forum articles and would like as many opinions as possible about whether I should get an Asus A7V, an Abit KT7 Raid or wait for the new mobo's with 266 fsb (I think it's 266 but maybe I'm wrong)? What do you guys think? I eventually want a computer with a burner, cdrom, dvd player, sb platinum 5.1 and 2or 3 harddrives and a prophet II video card and a T-bird 800 or eventually a 1 gig or higer processor. I have a few of those items already. I want something reliable and something that will allow these and greater upgrades in the future. As well, I'm a little concerned about the AMR slot. I hear that they're now turning to ACR slots. True? Thanks for all the help guys!

The Abit KT-7 Raid is the way to go. Its got the best features and alot of them. You can overclock your Cpu on this board very easy giving you a extra 200Mhz. The Raid feature is excellent, it speeds up your Hard drive performance plenty, 6 pci slots. AMD Socket-A thunderbirds are up to 1200 Mhz right now. I believe this board will last for a long time. I have one so what can I say.
