Hi...I am trying to find out if there is anyway to disable a password for my bios. The guy I bought the computer from put in a password, he refused to give it to me...now he's out of business and can't be found...I need to get into it to add a new hard drive. Problem is..I dont have the password..or the type of motherboard it is. I have a friend trying to fix my computer now and he needs this information to continue. Can anyone help me..and quickly..lol Thanks!

There is a freeware program called killcmos which I think will do just that. Alternately many MBs have a jumper you can use to reset the CMOS.
