I powerd up my new machine with the bp6 for the first time today and I
got a stream of beeps and no keyboard access. It says I have a "CMOS
checksum error-defaults loaded". when I unplug the keyboard the beeping
stops. Furthermore, it is not detecting my hard drive but it does detect
the the 2 proccessors and the memory.

I am having the exact same problem. My mainboard is a Shuttle Hot-557. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this. Can anyone help?

When you say a string of beeps, is it like an ambulance - high, low, high, low.....?

If thatīs the case, then itīs probably the PSU delivering incorrect voltage.

I tried 2 different cabinets before i bought an AOPEN HQ08 300W.

Just a thought!!

In the Bios is the speed error hold set to disable? PS's can and do cause hard to trouble shoot errors, finding a grounding short of the mobo to case is even harder. The siren wail can also be caused by the mobo's temp senser config error, or a major heat problem.
(no gooder at spelling)
