hello,
I have the 1st revision of the be6-II mobo. Its has ata/33 and ata/66 plugs. I was thinking of upgrading my dinosaur-ous harddrive (6G & 4G 5400rpm ata/33) to ata/66 but why now since ata/100 is availiable.
Instead of buying a new mobo with ata/100, a friend recommended using ata/100 controllers. With this said... Are there any recommended Ultra ATA/100 controllers? I'm thinking of getting a 10G or maybe 15G ata/100 harddrive.
Otherwise, I'll be buying a PIII mobo with 4x AGP and ata/100.
Current:
Abit be6-II r1 mobo
PIII 600e
160mb (PC100)SDRAM
GeForce2 GTS V7700 32mb
6Gig 5400rpm Seagate HDD
4Gig 5400rpm Maxtor HDD
SBLive!
Supra 56k Modem

Yes! Promise makes a great card for that, it's incoporated in some motherboards.
Abit also makes a card for this, but check with others on that.(I've only used the Promise card/chip.) Abits use the Highpoint controllers and many have been less than happy with those. They may have that fixed by now, all the problems I remember seeing were with the ata 66 version.
