Hi,
My motherboard on my other computer has died
and i got a another s/h one but it is a different form factor to my old one. the old one measures 8 5/8" by 8 1/4" and is an penitium 150 with just a keyboard plug on it.
This doesnot seem to conform to any of the form factors found in books (upgrad/Pcs by Mueller) or others. Ie not AT, Mini At, Baby At, so what is it ???
The new (s/h) board is a full atx board 12" x 9 1/2" with usb and serial and k/b and Mouse ports on it.
I notice some of the Jetway boards also seem the same size as the old board, can some give me the Web site of Jetway or tell me anything about their 531 s7 mb, 911, 993 p111 or 379 mb.
Thanks

Fingers

My links to Jetway are all broken. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Your old mobo is (probably) an AT board. Don't confuse the size of the board with the form factor. ATX is the new standard for motherboards, they have the parralled, serial, USB, mouse, keyboard connectors integrated onto the mobo itself. ATX also supports the newer Intel P-2/3 processors, AT does not. ATX boards require a ATX compatible case and an ATX compatible power supply, with only a few exceptions, the two are not interchangeable.

Try to locate a name or number on the old mobo that will identify it's make or model. From this information you will be able to determine the form factor of the board, remember, size doesn't necessarily determine form factor.
