AOpen AX6BC motherboard supporting...

1 x 10gig primary drive
1 x 6gig secondary drive
1 x 52 speed cdrom
1 x 20x4 speed cdrw

Does it make any difference how the above are cabled to the motherboard using IDE connectors 1 and 2? Is it better to have both hard drives on the same cable into the same IDE or 1 hd and 1 cd per cable? Thanks.

ya'll feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it depends on what modes the various devices run on, for instance if one is UDMA 66, you would want to put it with the fastest other device, rather than to say a drive that runs on PIO mode 3. in which case I believe you'd want the 3 hard disks on one and the CD's on the other.

I think thats right, at least thats how I've got mine, differant devices, but same principle.
