TNT2 Vanta16meg AGP/fic va-503+ locks up

Hello

I am having problems with my computer locking up especially online and when doing some offline work.seems to happen the most when running internet explorer or win explorer it never has frozen during ingame i.e. Half-Life or Quake3 Demo (offline) and it will freeze after a page loads (IE) and then trying to scrol the page down. it also freezes everytime i try to play or use a Direct 3D version of a game i.e. messiah, codename eagle, half-life. I have re-installed win98 2 times even did a re-format on that huge platter! (felt like a real snickers commercial moment)

VPlus tnt2 Vanta 16meg AGP 4x running 1x (generic)

used det3 drivers from Nvidia, and OEM supplied drivers

cirrus logic ISA non-win modem ISA
AWE 64 Value ISA
Win98 SE
VIA 4in1 drivers
CR-840 cdrom
matsumi CR-2801TE
1.44 floppy
250watt power supply AT case
500meg-to-500meg win Swap file
maxtor 18gig udma 66 (running 33udma)

here's my take,,,, i thing it is a power supply to the AGP port problem. i have a
dusty ol S3 ViRge PCI that works fine in this box.

any help anyone can give will have my sincerest gratitude!!

I have the same problems with that card on that board....But mine wont even start up into windows after you restart the computer... maybe the vanta is incompatible...

could be incompat.
i'm thinking it's in the drivers or Power supply system.

make sure you have the latest agp and IRQ mini port drivers for that board installed from VIA if you dont it aint gona work right at all

i have installed the 4-in-1 via drivers for the miniport, agp, anf ide systems... where can i look to see if they are installed... under my device manager it says it is using microsoft drivers or no drivers are installed or needed.
also i can ctrl alt del and get a system busy and i close certain programs and the system returns normal
