Abit BE 6 mb problem??

I have a problem with my BE 6 mb. In Windows the motherboard is supposed to "beep on errors". I am getting instead a muted "pop" only from the mb speaker. I am assuming that this is not right.Should I return the motherboard for a new one? Could it indicate a larger problem on the board that is not evident? Does anyone know anything about this? Abit technical support is, as always, virtually non-existent.

Did you try reversing the way the speaker wire is plugged into the MB?.....im no expert, just suggesting those simple things often overlooked

I have verified al connection s an know the speaker is good. I hear a POST beep upon bootup but still under certain conditions in Windows it is supposed to beep and I don't hear a beep. it is more like a "pop" which is not right. It makes me think that there is an obscure problem on the board and could it lead to a larger problem down the road?
