has anyone figured out how to improve the boot speed? i downloaded the latest bios build 28, and it finds my hard drive quickly, but has a 10-15 second pause while windows98se is booting up.

Use the DMA/66 IDE for the HD your OS runs off of, the Promise ATA/100 controller causes the boot up delay, but for 100 mb/s, I wouldn't complain.

Asus has recently released a new version of the Promise driver that gets rid of the slow boot up problem.
