I'm crashing rather frequently out of I.E. 4.0. The problem seems to have started after I flashed new firmware for my modem.
Is there any way to diagnose the problem? I have Nuts & Bolts and am able to recover cleanly. The dialog box that comes up in N&B says WUCRTUPD and if you go to details there is some code indicating where the error occured. Unfortunately, it's Greek to me.
Any help would be appreciated.

The detail screen says "WUCRTUPD caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.LL at 015f:bff9d709"
Then there is a bunch of stuff under registers.
Don't know if this will help diagnose the problem.

Well, someone else here recently had the same problem. Seems that the "new" bios file on his modem company's web site wasn't really "new" at all. Try calling your Modem Mfg.
read the IE4.txt file that came with IE4. I know that I had MAJOR problems with it and Norton utilities 2.0 after I went and deleted 3000+ norton "protection files" (they both wanna play with the recycle bin attributes).
If it is another program messing with it somehow, uninstall stuff in the REVERSE order that you installed it (if IE4 was the last thing you installed, uninstall that first, then uninstall the "offending" program). I made the mistake of uninstalling norton 2.0 first, and boy did that ever toast my system...(As in, I had to delete the windows directory and do a clean install).
