I saw this and i was wondering if this motherboard is any good. I would like to buy it to maybe add a Pentium III 500 or so. It has a VIA Apollo 133 chipset.

Tell me what you think of it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

couldn't tell you... but i'd be a little worried about any product that has a box with no name brand and in big bold letters the word MOTHERBOARD. http://smilecwm.tripod.com/cwm/laugh.gif

seems like a decent price, but personally i'd like a little more information on a product before i'd buy. perhaps someone who knows better than i can give you a more 'professional' opinion....

Yeah I see your point.

But if you look closely the brand name is Transend. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Do yourself a favor and stick with a name brand board. If you want an Apollo pro 133 chipset, you can pick up an Abit VA6 for about the same price as the one you are looking at.

Be aware that the Apollo pro 133 chipset was an early version with less than stellar performance. If you can afford a few bucks more, look for a board with an Apollo pro 133A chipset. The "A" version has a number of improvements over the original. All the major manufacturers have boards with this chipset in both slot 1 and socket 370 configuration.

Don't worry guys! I didn't go with this board. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I have a Asus A7V coming to me along with some PC133 CAS-2 Crucial memory. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I spent a few bucks extra on this but quality and performance comes first. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the info guys! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
