PIII 800(133x6.0)
FIC FB11 Mainboard
Intel 440BX/ZX Chipset
192mb PC100 (1x128 & 1x64)

Ok im new to this so bear with me if I give you to much or useless imformation. My first problem is im having trouble with my memory check my earlier post http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum2/HTML/009328.html

Sandra tells me
1. Memory bus speed exceeds memory rated speed.Reduce memory bus speed.
2. AGP bus speed is to high. Reduce FSB speed or FSB/AGP multiplier.

Could this be beacause its PC100 instead of PC133?
Is it possible to run my Processer at 800/100 instead of 800/133. On my mobo according to the manual I have 3 jumpers for FSB select and a box of 6 swithes (only 4 relevent to the speed select other 2 are Clear CMOS and Clear password). No matter wher I put the jumpers or flick the switches I cant get it at 800/100. I can get 400/66, 600/100, 733/133. In my BIOS I have something called Clock Speed/spectrum(or something similar) where I can set 66hz on 66hz off, 100hz on and so on up to 150on/off. Ive been all through these with my processer at varying speeds but no 800/100(even got 950/150 but struggled to even boot into my BIOS, phew that was close). So to sum it all up am I talking out of my **** or can it be done? I basicaly want my memory in and Sandra to tell me every thing is ok. If you have the time my mobo manual is at: ftp://ftp.fica.com/manuals/motherboards/fb11/ a PDF just over half a meg.

Thanks for your time Ian

I think it's just the Sandra bug, I have the same problem.

Sandra is completly right. First of all you can't change the multiplier because it is locked so 8 x 100 is not possible. If you would change the fsb to 100 your cpu would be running at 6 x 100 = 600 mhz.

Second, your fsb is at 133 and your mem is pc 100 so of course sandra will say that your fsb is to high for the mem. As long as everthing works normal you don't have to worry about this though because most (brand)pc100 memory can run at 133 with cas 3.

Third your chipset is bx that means that there is no agp divider of 1/2 that means that your agp speed is at 2/3 x 133 which is 89 mhz, so a lot higher than the standard of 66 mhz. Again as long as everthing runs normal (no lock ups or win errors) you don't have to worry. A lot of video cards can function normally at 89 mhz.

Hope the info helps.

De Joker. Thank you. Thats everything I needed to know. Just built this system from scratch my first time so I was a little worried.

Thanks again Ian
