I have installed Zone Alarm, and found it useful.

BUT I have now setup my machine as a proxy server to allow the other machine on my network to access the internet, and ZA keeps blocking the workstation.

How do I allow it to access my machine and then the internet. The only way I can do it at the moment is disable ZA, which is a bit pointless.

Cheers,
Lee.

I'd suggest that you put ZA on the workstation and leave it disabled on the proxy server. This is assuming that you're running Windows on the workstation.

The most secure configuration would be to run Linux on the proxy server.

Unfortunately, I use the server as my machine, and the workstation is my sisters machine. :-(

Hence why I need to block ports on the server but allow access from the workstation.

You can add specific ip adresses ro computers to let ZA allow communication...under security, advanced I believe. Thats what I have done in my network.
