Freakout 08-01-2000, 09:12 PM Just wondering if I can run a P3 650 Flip Chip on my BM6 motherboard, The board now supports up to 650mhz with the bios update and can use the Celeron 2 chips, so does anybody know? ErikMykland 08-03-2000, 05:31 AM The BM6 basically is a PPGA Board. You say you have the latest Bios which supports Coppermines (like Cel2), it should also work with a PIII, cause they are of the same architecture. You will need a FC-PGA --> PPGA adapter cause the pins are a little different (i.e. the reset in on a different pin). Take a look at the Neo370 adapter. Also check out the Asus page once more and have a second look if coppermines in general are supported. Good luck. AuraEdge 08-05-2000, 06:02 PM The Abit BM6 supports coppermines (the BM6 and the ZM6 really shouldnt, because they are built on old archetecture, but it seems Abit has found a way to work it into a BIOS update). You should have no problems running it on the board without a Neo370. SysOpt.com
