Thanks for the reply Scott, taking your advice using "identifying a motherboard section", I am now able to give you more information:-
Award bios no:08/14/97-VX PRO+-USB-Ultr-2A5LDH09C-00
via VPX chipset (sometimes labelled as VxPRO+chipset)
Manufacturer Hsing-Tech (PC Chips)
Using a Cyrix P166+MX processor with RAM 32Mb EDO (2x16) and 2.1GB Hard drive, am I limited for upgrade with this set up?
If so, I am looking at an ABit bH6 m/b as a starting point for a new upgrade project. I believe this to be an ATX form and will need an ATX tower. Can you give me some advice on an appropriate processor, and what type of memory to use? Thanks.

Because BH6 is a good overclock mobo,I would look for a good overclock CPU,something like a celeron 300A or celeron 366.
Buy 64 or 128mb 133FSB memory (go for 128 because the mem is pretty cheap at the moment.
If you buy a hd (I would),take an IBM 20.5GB 7200rpm.

Hi saxon,

It appears you are responding to something... but it's hard to tell to what.

Go to the thread to which you are referring, hit Post Reply from within the thread, then post your response there. This will keep things together.

Thanks for the advise Socalgal. Iam a beginer and just finding my way about.
My original question to the above was what are my options for an upgrade on this particular m/b VXpro + chipset, and if iam
limited am i best to start with new m/b and processor. Thanks also to Barney for advise will certainly look into these options. Thanks
