You may be jumping to the wrong conclusion. Give us more details on what you have ...

Which AMD 700?
Which motherboard?
What kind of SDRAM?

Well, those i suppose "simms" will not be going anywhere, if you don't specify your motherboard. Most Athlon motherboards do not use SIMMS however, but uses DIMM SDRAM. That's if you have an Athlon.. If you have a Duron, then please tell us. We need to know the info on your AMD xxx 700MHz. Including the motherboard manufacturer and model.

Most athlon boards????

I think ya mean no athlon board at all.
But if ya do know one that does, please show me the link, cause I sure would like to know.

If it is an original athlon, you should check the area where the serial number is printed on the cartridge.

On the right of it, there is 1 single latter.
If it is an A, you got yerself a 0.18um core.
If it is a C, it's 0.25um
