Hi,
I have searched the internet for computer cases and I have found pretty nice cases: colorcases.com, Enlight, etc... but I have never found the case I am looking for.

I need a case that meet the following specifications:

FOUR 5 1/2 Bays
TWO 3 1/2 External Bays
TWO 3 1/2 Internal Bays

I would prefer it small.
Thanks, I would really appreciate if someone can hook me up with this case.

The Antec KS-380 should be exactly what you are looking for.

Dominus,
I appreciate your help, but the Antec KS-380 has TWO 5 1/2 bays, TWO External 3 1/2 bays and TWO Internal 3 1/2 bays.

As I said, It seems that the case I am looking for doesn't exist. I guess I will end up 'sitting' my hard drives inside my case. Maybe I should attach them with tape or something http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I'm afraid that I would have to agree with you; that case simply does not exist.

Not sure if you knew this, but you can get 5.25-to-3.5 bay adapters. They are fairly easy to find in old 486s, etc. That way you could just get a case with lots of 5.25 bays & as many adapters as you needed. That's what I usually do when I'm in your situation.

You can get an adapter here. (http://www.calpc.com/html/driveadapt.html)

I am sure someone makes what you are looking for but I never found one when I was looking for one.

hey jad1097, that case looks very nice.
I wonder whether it is loud or not.
it is only $36 !!!!
Probably bad quality. Bad Power Supply and probably very loud.

Support two full length 5.25" devices ~~( this is the only problem I can see)

What is meant by 2 full lenght 5.25 devices ?

Thanks

I would assume that the other 2 5.25 drives probably ram into the power supply if they are full size.

Full size being cd-roms and such.

Getting a small one with those specifications can be pretty difficult to find. I suggest going into a full size case. I have a Q500 by inwin which i love to death =].

5-5.25 drives
6-3.5 drives

Try this http://www.electroseller.com/4385CASE.htm
Only thing is.. it only has a single internal bay. But you could add brackets to the bottom of the internal 3 1/2 to accomodate another one. There's plenty of room. It comes with a extra case fan. And you can buy extra case fans for $5 each. They are ball bearing fans.
$37.99 for the case and $16.00 for shipping.

I have their Full tower case with the 300W power supply. This case is really good IMO. I haven't had a single prob with it.

Here's the link to the post I made here on sysopt about my Full Tower. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum10/HTML/000396.html

Some one I know gave me a midi tower ATX with no side panels that has 6 3.5in bays and three 5.25in. Not bad for free! Try searching basements of computer stores and if ya find a nice choice, change the PSU to be on the safe side. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I have not seen it in person, but:
CS-900PX 4x5.25", 2x3.5", 2x3.5"(Hidden) http://www.a-pro.com/
These guy's are spendy but here is their review: http://www.a-pro.com/RVW900PX.htm
It's 21" tall but excellent cooling.

Umm, this looks like what your looking for:
CS-917PX 4x5.25", 2x3.5", 2x3.5"(Hidden) http://www.a-pro.com/RVW917PX.htm
Small MoBo only-17" tall, under $40

well, I have seen cases with FOUR 5.25 bays, TWO external bays and ONE internal bay. Sad thing is that they have a lot of space inside. A second internal bay might be placed with no problems.

no_bs,
The size of my motherboard is 9.5" X 10". I don't know if this one will fit that case.

****, If I don't find a nice case before the end of this month, I guess I will end up going to Best Buy to return the hard drive I bought http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I think you will end up getting a full tower if you want that kind of layout.
Do you need all four 5 /14" bays and the two 3 1/2" ext.?

This would work for you but you would have to put two of your 3 1/2" devices in 5 1/4" bays. http://store.yahoo.com/jinco/8bayatxmidto.html

The Enlight 7237 mid- tower has 4 - 5 1/4, 2 - 3 1/2 ext, and one - 3 1/2 int it might be as close as you'll get.

hey Guys,
I found the perfect case http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I found it at CompUSA and it costs $60.
It has 4 5.25, 2 3.5 and 3 3.5 internals. Sad thing is that they were all sold out http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Tomorrow I will visit all the CompUSA stores in my state until I find that case.
Thanks. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

GUTB, the CS-917PX can fit a BH6 and still have All 4 51/4 bays loaded. Don't know the dementions of the BH6, but the case has 2 80mm fan mounts, for a 17"er it looks pomising for $37. If any 1 had a looks see on this case, please post back.

I just bought one of those CompUSA cases yesterday. Got the whole thing up and running last night. I found the case to be well designed and easy to work in. Hope you find one soon.

Unsecured Loner,

So, how is this case doing ?
How loud is the fan of the power supply ?
How many watts is the power supply 250 or 300 ?

I can't wait !!!!

Unsecured Loner

The fan noise is nearly undetectable to me. Its a 300 watt power supply. I believe its the same case CompUSA uses for most of their store branded PCs so they wouldn't want junk with their name on it. I think you'll be happy with it.

I've got 2 hdds, a cd, cd/rw, and fd in it. There's still plenty of room left to expand.
