U.S.R. inntrnl modem can i flash this modem to be an 56k and if so how ???any help would be great to save a buck and not to buy new modem.. Thank You

Thank You commodsquad 04-16-2000, 04:08 PM Depending on the model of USR modem you have there is a possibility that it is upgradeable via Flashing it. Check out 3com's website for the info...Unfortunately, it won't save you a buck since they charge for that type of upgrading of their modems and the last time I checked on it they were charging a little over $60 for that option.. Incedentally, I have an external 33.6 USR modem that was upgraded by this process and no matter what I did it almost never connected above 36000..If it did, it would top out at 36333..The one I have now is a cheapo CNET brand external I get consistent connects at 48000..of course I would like better LOL..
