As many of you know I work for McDonalds' http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
I'm one of those ordinary Moe Joe's...no crew chief...no swing manager...no nothing.
I would like to know what things you like/dislike about McDonalds', its products and its services.
Since the McD I'm working for has just opened up a new store, I'd like to take a moment and ask you guys for your 2 cents so that I can forward this to my MANAGERS and let them know how their customers feel about McDonalds' in general. SPEAK UP AND LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD!!!
Lets start http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
1)Are the people friendly?
2)Are the food fresh? (especially the fries and the hashbrowns)
3)Do you see teamwork @ play to help you get your food as fast and as fresh as possible?
4)What bottlenecks do you see?
5)Is the lobby clean and meeting your expectations of cleaniness?
6)Do you notice the managers/(guy/gal in charge) helping out when there's a rush? Or are they just slacking off hiding around somewhere?
7)Do your complaints get handled quickly and they make sure you're satisfied and happy?
8)Do you find that your orders are not filled correctly or that there's items missing constantly almost everytime you visit?
9)What time of day do you find service is the slowest? Breakfast? Lunch? Or Dinner?
10)What product was removed from our menu that you would like to see come back? Salads? Pizza?
What do you guys prefer:
the old drive-thru way of having to talk into a speaker for your orders to get taken
-OR-
the new way of having a REAL LIVE person taking your order @ the drive-thru windows?
Which method do you believe is faster and better?
What do you guys think of the new McValue Days promotions?
McChicken Mondays
Hamburger Wednesdays
Cheeseburger Sundays
Apple pie specials Everyday
Ice cream specials Everyday
Our main competitor are BurgerKing.
How does McD fare against BK?
All opinions will be forwarded to management.
Thanks for all those who have participated. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

OK, PD, I'll do your poll. BUT try to kep in mind that you're gonna get radically differing opinions from different areas. The answers I give will be based on the stores nearby here in suburban St Louis County. But when we're out in rural areas, it's another story altogether!! (usually better)
1> seldom. Usually too rushed.
2> 50/50. Fries seldom fresh.
3> no
4> haven't noticed
5> yes
6> yes
7> usually
8> occasionally
9> can't say, don't go often enough.
10> Quarter Pounder (original W/O cheese)
> Coin-toss on the drivethru. The speakers gave the advantage of distance, allowing more time for orders to be processed, BUT were more prone to misunderstandings.
> Never heard of McValue Days
> About Burger King - Sorry Chi, but BK has better tasting meat. McD has a better variety of foods.
Actually, for burgers I prefer Dairy Queen's Brazier's over either.
=====
Now, big complaint time! Fast food was & is supposed to be fast and CHEAP.
It's still fast, and great for quick snacks. BUT for a full meal I can take my family of four to a true restaurant and get steak and/or smorgasbord for very little more than what a McDonald's meal costs!!!
(Also true of BK & most others)
That's just flat-out ridiculous.

Well,
I for one am very upset about one thing.
I live in The Netherlands and I am just addicted to the McDeluxe with bacon.
I would eat it every day, and I did, untill one day....
They decided that the bacon doesn't sell well enough, so they don't sell that anymore.
Without the bacon, I think it's just another quarterpounder.
I don't enjoy eating it, so I don't.
The day this happened was one of the black pages in the book called "my life"
Some people might say that it is a little overkill, but I really mean it, that was the one thing I always enjoyed eating, no matter what time or day, you could always serve me a Mcdeluxe and I would always enjoy it.
Now, I don't go to McDonalds anymore.
Why???
Because the rest I already know, and I'm fed up with big macs and quarterpounders.
That I won't eat everyday.

Sorry Plucky but I am very anty Mac Plastic food, the kids will some time insist on a burger there, but I won't touch a Mac, or KFC if thats any consolation, I will tol a Burger King every now and then ( and they give me Fly Buys points as well) but if I am really after a fast burger I goto a Wendy's Burger Bar every thing is cooked to your order nothing been standing around in a pre cooked oven or grill.

the one thing McDonalds is famous for is the quality control, you can order a bigmac in newfoundland or california, and it is the same ....you know what you are getting, and much has been written about this, and when i say quality control i am not talking about whether you like the product or not.... there are subtle changes in various countries as i heard people in south america were picking the sesame seeds off the buns. I find most fast food joints pretty much the same with the same canned approach. I myself don't prefer McDonalds food or Burger King. If i do eat fast food it is Harvey's or Wnendy's

The "parts is parts" approach to Mc D's chicken stuff is disgusting. Otherwise I like chicken...when I KNOW I'm getting white meat.
The filet-o-fish w/o tarter saurce (or very little) is probably the most healthy sandwich you have...and one I order often. Problem is, it's seldom a good price, even if it's one of the "value" meals. Plus, it's too small...there should be a larger fish sandwich availible.
However, my biggest and most vocal complaint is:
YOU GUYS DON'T PUT SALT ON THE FRIES ANYMORE!!! Why not? And NO it's not the same if I add salt when I get them because the salt doesn't stick to warm (if we're lucky) fries. They need to be sizzling hot, just out of the oil for the salt to stick. What the hell is wrong with you people? Do you really think a little salt on the french fries is going to make any difference in the life expectantcy of someone who eats at McDonald's? Come'on! (ok I feel a little better now)
Even if you have to sneak it, plucky duck, do us a favor and toss a sprinkle of salt on the fries right when they get out of the sauna.

They quit using the salt cause people like me complained. Salt makes me sick. Especially like they used to throw it on there. I distinctly remember my McD's friends telling me about having to fill that 1/4-lb salt shaker up four or five times a day.
As for everything else I am rarely treated well, the prices are getting outrageous - I can get twice as much food for the same money at wendys or burger king... I far prefer wendy's gurgers, and BKs chicken and fish. and if I REALLY want a good burger, I'll go to Griff's. 3 patties, all the toppings, a 44-oz coke, a half pound bag of onion rings, and all for $4.12 after tax!

Wendy's and their 99 cent value meal. I can eat like a king for 5 bucks. Nuff said. Mcdonalds is too commercial and expensive, and will continue to lose business to Wendy's and BK.

I do get stuff missing when I make a really big order, but I guess that would be expected. The only other complain I have is that the Big Macs just fall, one bite the the lettuce and meat are all over the place. If they were make a little neater then that wouldn't happen. I open up the box to eat the Big Mac and its like forest, lettuce is all over the place.

2) I have been to stores where the food is extremely fresh, and to stores where the food is extremely not fresh. Usually the freshness is consistant per store.
3) yes

10) McRib's rule
Live person ordering sucks. I hate it. I hope that stupid idea dies soon.
And Extra Value Meals are no longer $2.99. the McD's at Gateway Mall here in Lincoln has the worst quality control, I don't go there unless I feel death from starvation will set in before I can get to another McD's.
Plucky, do you have plans for college?

My opinion of McDonalds is that it sucks. The food is not appetizing, the burgers look horrible, and for what I get, it costs too much. The fries are okay, and so are the apple pies, and I'll only get that if I go there with friends, but otherwise, I stay away. As for improving the food, I don't think you can. The system is stable and profitable as is, and the top guys know that, so why change to get a couple more customers?
I gave up fast food a while ago, because they are more concerned about making a profit than they are about making good food. Besides that, I like HUGE burgers... of the 1/2 - 1 lb. variety, which is unheard of at McDonalds.

I do not eat meat....and I try to eat very healthy......so mcdonalds is completly out of my eating range.......when I did eat fast food and other junk like that I would never get mcd's...........always wendys........
Every once in awhile whe I do not bring lunch to work and there is no other option I will eat some greasy fries from somewhere(usually regret it too).....and I am not a big mcd's fries fan when I do get them.

Thanks for your opinions guys/gals.
First of all, I DO NOT plan on staying @ McD's for the rest of my life. It is definetly not my careers.
I'm still in college looking towards an Accounting career. Hopefully I'll graduate before I die.
Talking about watching your diets, sure the burgers may be relatively low in fat and other nitty gritty stuff, but the fact that McD always stresses you to get meals changes all that? Why? Think of all the fat and cholestrol there is in the fries!!! The fries are what's making them $$$ big time!!!
Pototoes are very very cheap and they sell them @ auction high prices.
They don't care if you die or not, they just want to sell tonnes of FRIES cause its the most profitable item and that's exactly what they push for. Sad, isn't it?
As far as ordering thru DRIVE-THRU speakers go, from my experience, IT IS Way too often that orders get taken WRONG.
I know cause I work the drive-thru shifts day in day out every stinkin day.
The headsets that we have to wear are a big pain in the ****, static looms everywhere rendering order taking very difficult, and on top of that the STUPID LOUD AND NOISY CONVEYOR BELT is going like a choo-choo train right beside me ears.
I've got a headache every darn day and am gonna go deaf sooner or later.
NOW, as far as prices go, if you're in Canada the prices are very reasonable as we're having these great McValue Day promotions where we have on the following days:
$1.49Cdn McChicken Mondays
$-.59Cdn Hamburger Wednesdays
$-.69Cnd Cheeseburger Sundays
$-.50Cnd ice cream Everyday
$-.99Cdn 2 pies Everyday
BUT, if you order family meals, I'd really have to say that you're better off eating elsewhere 'cause the savings are pretty much nonexistent.
OUTPATIENT - that's a very good point you've got there. I'll make sure something gets done about that...well, at least in my store anyways.
Thanks again guys.

Plucky, there is no cholestrol in fries...unless they have been cooked in animal fat or lard, which they are not.Cholestrol does not occur in vegtables at all.

I'll bite...on second thought, I won't.
I'll buy Burger King or Wendy's any day before I'll buy MacDonald's. Why?
I open up the box to eat the Big Mac and its like forest, lettuce is all over the place. Very true...as well as the food is usually cold.
If I order a Big Mac without cheese, sure as heck it will come with cheese.
They don't use Heinz ketchup do they? If they did, that would greatly improve the taste of all the burgers and the fries. There's nothing like biting into a nice hot burger with cold Heinz ketchup on top.
The fries - once they have cooled down to the warm point, they are terrible. More like cardboard. How about some fatter fries?
I've decided not to go on...but I could.
Nothing beats a Wendy's single with everything. And how do they get it to the window 30 seconds after I order it with cold lettuce, tomato, onion and ketchup, but the meat is piping hot?

I worked at 2 different Macs when I was a kid: 1 in Colesville, MD, and one in N. Miami Beach, FL. My favorite sandwich at Mac's is the BIG MAC. Yummy! Then the Filet of Fish. I was fired one day as it was real slow during a snow storm, and three of us guys working window (cashiers) were caught playing an ad hoc game of Monopoly using hamburgers, cheeseburgers, etcetera for houses, hotels, and so on with real money! Fond memories.

Since we're on a bit of a health kick here, I'd like to say that it's shown that synthesized oils (margerine, vegatable oil, etc.) are worse for you than natural things such as butter, lard, etc. The cholesterol thing has been way overblown. What the body needs to be healthy is having foods as God designed them, natural. Anything synthesized, man made or screwed with, the body cannot deal with properly and will cause problems. Anyone remember Olestra? How about Aspertame? I could go on & on but....
I believe McD's and other such places should have to pay a tax to support the medicare system for all the people they make sick or kill. There should be a warning on the food there, like there is on cigs...."Eat this and you will die sooner than if you hadn't". Now onto the survey, bring the **** pizza back, I kinda like it. My kids drag me to McD's about once a month and I don't care for the burgers so I often ordered a pizza with fries. At least the pizza was freshly cooked. And good luck on your future Plucky. It can't be denied that McD's is the most successful franchise ever....I think only one has failed.
Oh yeah....shoot that stupid clown.
That's my 2cents.

I dont go to Dirty Dons Plucky.
I like my burgers plain, at Mc Donalds I order, then the clerk calls assistant mgr and informs them that I want a plain burger, who then calls the mgr who then calls the gen mgr, then my order is processed. I wait off to the side for several minutes till my order is ready, sit down open it up and BOY OH BOY back up to the front

I have to say I am rather partial to the fries in Burger King....they seem to be alot crispier than Ronald's. I used to go to Wendy's in Oxford Street (London,England) but they have closed down, their burgers are bigger and tastier. On salads now because I've become a bit of a fat slapper.....anyone for BSE in a bap?

First, I am in tampa, FL
1.) If they speek english, they have attitudes, if not, they are nice but it takes 10 tries to get them to understand that you want fries.
2.) Yes.
3.) Nope.
4.) ordering through broken speekers and people that don't know what they are doing (at least 2 in every location)
5.) All except one place, with roaches!
6.) There are managers?
7.) With an attitude sometimes, but yes.
8.) About 1/3 of the time, mostly the wrong soda or forgetting condements.
9.) Dinner.
10. Bananna shake (I know it comes back yearly, but I would like to see them at least bi-annualy.)
Prefer: speeker, but with those screens that make sure they took your order correctly.
Specials: I never order any of that stuff, unless ice cream means mcflurry...
BK kicks MCD but, esp. the onion rings...

Well I think I know which one you are at as there has only been one new one replacing and old one in the last little while. For some reason have the same problem at both MC D's as I do at BK. They constantly screw up the order!!!! Prefer the window.... that way at least they hear you right when they take it. I prefer BK beacuse I can order my Whopper the way I want it. Mc D's is good when I am in a rush or got the munchies or taking the kids out. One thing I have found, Mc D's constantly (no matter what location I have been to) on a regular basis seems to be trying to cut costs or the employees just dont give a hoot. Far to many times I have gotten drinks 3/4 filled. Orders of fries with far less than what should be there. The Price has gone through the roof and the size of the burgers gets smaller every year.
I have not yet been to the new location here but the old one I found was not bad in terms of service and accuracy of the order.
