Ok i have a few questions about Ami bios. It's the one that has Standard CMOS setup, Advance CMOS setup, ect. with the blue and white screen.

Ok i see a line in the advanced chipset setup that says, "Share memory size" which is not changable. It doesn't let me go to it and change it. Right now it's on disabled but i want to enable the shared ram for the onboard video. How do i change this? Is there another setting that is not letting me share my memory.

Please help!
Thanks,
~Joel

Remove your add on vid card in Windows devices. Shut down. If there is a jumper on your board for onboard video - Change it to "Enable". Connect the onboard vid cable, if your board is AT. On ATX, connect your monitor cable to the onboard connector. Remove the add on vid card. Boot up and go into your bios to select the shared memory size for video. Save and exit. Windows will ask for the drivers. Should be on your mainboard cd... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Ok I tried all of that and it's fine up to the point where i have to reboot with only the onboard video. The onboard video doesn't work. I don't know what's wrong with it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Definitely remove the vid-card first!!
There is a selection for AGP vs "other", where I can't remember what "other" means, right in there somewhere...you'll be looking for a setting that is the "other". You'll set that back to AGP...If that alone doesn't work(I sortof remember it didn't), I believe I simply jumpered the "clear CMOS" pins on-board. The default, I believe was AGP...that took care of it. If you tweaked or believe someone tweaked any of your setting from default...make notes of those 1st...

You seem to have an older board there, where the integrated VGA needs to be disabled before adding a PCI VGA. Probably there is a "VGA Disable" jumper on the mainboard somewhere.

Or you don't have your DIMM or SIMMs in the proper slot for integrated VGA operation - usually these VGA engines need RAM in a certain slot to work.

What board is that?
