Anybody used freewwweb free internet service?
I noticed the d/l is 22MB and has Netscape included. I DO NOT want Netscrape. Is there a way around this? All I want is the freewwweb software. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Obviously, you already saw that you can sign up w/o doing the download, although I prefer Netscape myself.

I started with Freewwweb before it was free. It used to be that you paid a one-time fee for the software & registration. I paid $100 in Feb '97 and have never spent another dime for net access. Good connection, few problems & still no banners.

Yeah, I like the no-banners thing too! Much nicer than most of the other free isp's.

Much fewer busy signals too.

Lots of server problems lately on the Knoxville,Tn server, especially if you are in a surrounding county. Better have a backup ISP.

I've been using WorldShare (http://www.worldshare.net) as my main free ISP. I started looking for another one, once freewwweb gave me nothing but busy signals in my area. The one thing I like about WorldShare is that they cut off signups every once in a while, to let their systems adjust to the extra load of users. No banners, fast connections, everything you can ask for from a free ISP. Only thing you have to do is fill out a survey every month.
