i have the 95MHz one, and what is the clock generator for this. Scotter told me you (peter missel) knows a lot, so i assume, u will know. But i know others might, so what is it. I need it for SoftFSB, if SoftFSB will work on it. Thanx.

Erm, what do you want to do with SoftFSB on that board?

I don't know what clock generator chip is on the M598LMR v5. Locate it yourself - it's usually a 48-pin chip with lots of small analog components (resistors, capacitors) around it.

do you think i can make the FSB higher? In the BIOS, it goes up to 100MHz, but when it gets to windows, i think it is remapped to 95MHz.. I'm just wondering if I can adjust the FSB back to 100 from windows using softFSB, but now i don't think it will work, as to your reply stated.

I don't want to sound rude here, but ...

Now obviously the manufacturer couldn't get it stable at 100 and decided to limit it to 95. What makes you think that YOU'll be able to do so?

Whatever, you might also give the BIOS for later M598LMR board revisions a try - these aren't limited to 95. At your own risk, please.
