Could anyone please tell me how fast of an Amd K6-2 chip I can use on a J-Bond PCI500C-Pa motherboard, Revision 2.2? The Amd site only tells what can go on a 2.4 Revision. I am afraid to flash the Bios. So, If I leave it at the 2.2 version can I use a 500 Mhz. Amd k6-2 chip? My motherboard book says I can use a 400 chip but they are getting hard to find. I want a retail-boxed with heat sink and fan and 3 year-warranty chip, with the sink and fan thermo sealed onto the chip at the factory. Please help I need to upgrade. Right now I am just to running a Pentium 90 overclocked to 100 and therefore can't run a lot of programs that I would like to run.

no you will have to flash your bios to run the 500 what is the max of your fsb speed and you multipler one the board may be you can max out the fsb and use 2x multipler that will defult to 6 with a K-6-2
