Hi, and thanks for the help on the bios password bypass, now the next problem that cropped up is that all my bios settings have been removed, so how do I set it up, so that it works like it did before, the main problem that I found is that it does not recognise my graphics card, in the display menu in windows it only says that I have 16 colors, not even 256 colors, previous setting was on high 16 bit. I have an Award Agp Bios with green, plug and play features, 4M-bit firmware hub, Intel 810 DC 100 chipset.
Did you install a updated video driver for this card? Sounds like a driver issue.

As ISD says it sounds more like you have not installed the drivers for your chipset. Check in your Windows(?) display properties or device manager to see what graphics adapter is fitted. If it is 'standard VGA' then you need to update driver to Intel 810 (usually found on the CD supplied with the motherboard). Also check your monitor is identified as at least SVGA in display properties. (Sometimes comes up as unknown monitor and you won't get more than 16 colours)

Yes i'm pretty positive that it is a driver issue because i had the same problem yesterday. My friend's computer only gave me the option of 2 color and 16 color. Then i tried to install the drive that windows had and it took the 2 color option away(woopty-do! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif). But then i searched for the driver from the Sis website and found it. The onboard video was Sis 530 and i downloaded the driver and i got the 16 color, 256 color, 16-bit color, and the 24-bit color. So look for a updated driver and i'm pretty sure it'll solve your problem.
