Hello.
I'm thinking of buying a board that supports ULTRA/66. You know on the Promise card it will run at the slowest speed that's connected to it. Well will the same apply to the primary and secondary EDI on a 66 board?
One more thing. When all is connected (4 EDI devises) I'll have my ZIP drive left to connect. Do they make a PCI card that supports a EDI devise without the card needing a driver? Thanks for your help. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif~

if you are going to buy a new board then go for one with a 8 ide devices like the asus cubx or the abit be6-2. they have 2 udma66 controller for harddisks and 2 normal ide controller for cd rom or zip drives.

i had the same problem with 3 harddisks and 3 cd roms.

the udma controller is compatible to all harddisks even the slower ones.
