After a couple of bad boot ups (sys did not recognize video card) my sys has been locking up, moreso on graphic apz (flightsim 2000 – screensavers) although it has happened in word, or just after booting into windows. I don’t think its temp related, I have Alpha P3-125, thermal paste, several case fans, cpu temp 31~43 oC depending on load. Temp in taskbar at lockup is usually in the 30’s. I was running 600e@ 840 but now have it @600, but still locks up.
From diamond site I printed bios recommended settings, and changed a number of settings, still the same.
I’ve tried several video card drivers for the viper. I should say in the middle of this problem I installed office 2000. As noted by others in previous P3V4X posts, I also have no drivers loaded for Via tech cpu to pci bridge, cpu to agp controller, the pci to isa bridge has a windows driver installed. I have tried to install separately but does not seem to work, perhaps I’m not doing it right. Sys was running fine for a couple of months after mb install. In device mgr there seems to be no problems evident. Any ideas greatly J appreciated.
