I have an IDE Hard Drive and an IDE CD-Rom Drive.
The Hard drive is set to MASTER and the CD-ROM Drive is set to SLAVE. If I want to add a second hard drive, what do I set that to?
I don't really want any huge technical explanations for this question, but just *what* I should set it to.
Thanx!!!!!

Usually doesn't matter. Go with master.

Put the Hard drive with the operating system as ide1 master and the second hdd as ide2 master with the cd-rom as ide2 slave http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gifThe two hdd will transfer info between themselves if on different ide channels and the cd-rom should do just fine as slave on ide2.

I would set the CD as master on the second IDE channel and the new/extra HD as slave to the existing one..just set the jumpers on the extra HD to slave, and the CD jumpers to master..set the changes in the bios, and format the extra HD ..away you go.
