Hey Guys, I'm new at building my own 'puter, are any of these motherboards worth buying? They seem to be good prices. Will any of them be able to handle the latest chips?

I'm looking for any chip over 800 mhz, with the possibility of overclocking. I'm probably going to go with an Athlon for easier overclocking and better bang for the buck.

All of the mobo's you listed above are for Intel chips (except the socket 7 boards where you can use Cyrix, AMD K5 or K6 series chips, or Intel pentium chips). They won't work with an Athlon.

athlons are not that easy 2 overclock. If you want to overclock something, get a BE6-II, and a celeron II 566 or 533. Then you'll see what i'm talking about. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

for an athlon go for the abit ka-7, or an asus k7 and get a goldfinger device to unlock the multiplier...
