I have tried and triead and tried to flash the BIOS on this board but whenever I run the AMIFL817.exe prog from the DOS prompt it gives me a message
>CHIPSET/FLASH PART NOT AVAILABLE. THIS FUNCTION WILL BE INVALID.

I have heard all of the horror stories about "PCCHIPS", don't buy a PC CHIPS BOARD,etc.etc.etc. but this board as $10.00 and it was buy on get one free...could not pass it up. I guess my question is...is this BIOS Flashable?

Use a V6.xx AMIFLASH for the old boards that have a 128 KB BIOS.

For size reasons (it's a DOS program!), AMI has ditched support for a number of older FlashROM parts from AMIFLASH 8. That's why you get that error message.

Oh, and make sure you got an M571 BIOS that is made for your board revision. The M571 has been around for very long now, and there have been some major changes to it that require differing BIOSes. Pick the wrong one, and chances are it won't even POST anymore. Be careful.

With the latest version of BIOS this is a nice board. You can run a K6/2 or 3-400 at 6*66. I do some real low budget work for a few non profits so I must aske where you found that price on this board.
