I have a Micronics MB (with no maual)that has jumpers to set the parallel port to: none,DMA channel 1,DMA channel 3.
I know that DMA stands for direct memory access, but beyond that, what setting should I use and why. I will be using a P120 processor and installing WIN95 or WIN98 to use as a very basic machine. Thanks

Micronics is now owned by Diamond Muti-Media and they have manuals that are downloadable on their web site. As for your DMA channels you want to use only what it not in use already. Windows system information will tell you the assignments. So, load Windows and find an open DMA channel, then set your parallel port jumper.
