I am trying to identify an AT style M/B I found in a Quantex full tower Pentium 90 computer. The BIOS screen indicates that it is for 75-100 mhz Pentiums. Numbers on the board are:
MBD-P5AG Revision 1B
This appears to be a quality board. The jumper settings are all silk screened on the board. One unusual item is, this board has 6 72 pin SIMM sockets. It uses ALI chipset.
The previous owner has password protected the CMOS settings. I can not find a CMOS battery on the board. I want to erase the CMOS password so that I can add additional hard drives to the system.
I'd also like to get the manual off of the manufacturer's web site.

Hi chaskuss

It's a Gigabyte board. Manufacturer's Model Name: GA-586AP. Info from: http://www.cybmax.com/support/y2k/GIGABYTE.HTM

Not sure if that's the rev version, though.

Go to http://www.giga-byte.com/gigabyte-web/newindex.htm and type in that model number for the manual and other info. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the heads up. The first link also explains why I couldn't upgrade to Windows 98. The BIOS had been patched for Y2K compliance. This patch is not Win98 or NT compatible. You've saved me some serious head scratching!!
