Help! I purchased one of these motherboards in a pre-system sold by Amptron. It arrived and I inserted my RAM, CPU, and hard drives. The machine starts fine, but the CMOS will not detect the hard drives or CD-ROM, no matter what I do. Also, the CD-ROM does not appear to get power. (Door does not open.)
I have tried reversing the hard drive cables - not possible due to a cutout on the male and female ends of the cable. I have checked to see that the CMOS jumper was set to normal - it is. I checked the hard drives (Maxtor) and the primary is set to "master" and the secondary is set to "slave". The CD-ROM is on a seperate IDE channel and it is set to "master".
Also, the BIOS is set for both IDE channels.
I can't think of anything else to do except send it back. Any thoughts?
