MB : VXpro - II Pentium MMX PCI chipset.
When plug in NIC PCI card(Compaq NC3121), at BIOS startup shows "PXE-M04: Hooking bootstrap interrupt 18H". Once reach Win 98 screen, I check there isn't "!" at Network Adaopters in Device Manager.
Once I reboot the PC, the message at BIOS is gone but at Network Adapter there is "!" in device manager.
What should I do ?

Int18h is where a NIC boot ROM has to hook, this is normal.

For your problem, try setting "PnP OS Installed" in BIOS to "No".

I tried. This time I discovered that I need to shutdown Win98 each time in order to detect the NIC. If I restart Win98, it will not detect the NIC. Is this normal??
Can I upgrade the BIOS ?
